took Gus to ER. Just viral and wait it out. Keep giving him Tylenol even though we’ve been giving him stuff and he is getting worse. They gave him Tylenol and Motrin. About five minutes after that he started screaming for an hour plus. They took chest X-rays and we waited over an hour (while he screamed) for the doctor to review them until we finally just left.

I’m never taking him to another doctor again. It was awful.

  1. Aw your poor little guy. The colds have been really bad this winter and the little ones are getting hit so hard. I hope he turns the corner today.

  2. I’m sorry it was so awful. Keep a record of symptoms and medicine. I hope he gets better on his own. The reason the arm pain was alaraming was because I kid I worked with had a cold, fever, lethargy, then she started limping and her leg hurt. They were dismissed multiple times and it went on for a few weeks. It turned out the infection got into her bone/leg and once the doctors finally took them seriously it required a hospital stay. Keep an eye on it.

  3. X-raying babies is the worst. My Gus got bronchitis while we were on vacation last summer and we had to go to urgent care and get chest X-rays. HORRIBLE. And to deal with all that and then not get any results?! Infuriating.

    • We had a chest x ray done last winter and it was horrible too. They then diagnosed him with bronchitis and sent us home with double the appropriate dose of antibiotic. I had a follow up with the pediatrician and she said it was not bronchitis and adjusted the dose of medicine since he was already on it and had to finish it up. Pain in the butt.

  4. I’m so sorry. That ER visit sounds like hell.
